Wonder About My Thunder: 2012-2013 Rotation

AldrichBench

One of the biggest strengths for the Thunder over the past few years has been their bench. I mean, seriously, how many other teams play a 10- man rotation? Not too many. With the reigning 6th man of the year, James Harden, Oklahoma City has one of, if not the best bench in the NBA(With considerations going to the Bulls, Nuggets, Pacers, and Spurs). However, Harden isn’t the only one who can come off the bench and produce for this Thunder… Continue reading »

Oklahoma City Thunder Offseason Grades

After Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Kendrick Perkins was asked about the rotation for the past few games. Perkins replied, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” via Slam Online. Believe it or not, that same quote can be used for the Thunder’s offseason moves.  If you have just reached the NBA Finals, why go out and try to mess around with the roster and chemistry? Am I losing it or something? I mean it’s common sense for Sam Presti… Continue reading »

Bustin’ My Bulls: Memo to Management; REALLY?

derrick rose lebron james

In what’s been an off-season full of mind-boggling signings, constant Dwight-drama and shocking announcements, the Chicago Bulls front office has decided to do… nothing. Well, not nothing. They did drop CJ Watson for Kirk Hinrich. Even as a huge Hinrich advocate, it was a minor upgrade at best. This brings me to the theme of this week’s column. I’m assuming most of you have watched Saturday Night Live’s “Really?” segment with Seth Meyers. If you haven’t, get on YouTube and do so, because it’s… Continue reading »

Oklahoma Thunder 2012 Season Review & Player Grades

Be as emotional and hurtful as you want but there is nothing to be ashamed of as a Thunder fan. Coming into this year, the Thunder wanted to get by the Western Conference Finals and advance to the NBA Finals. Of course, the Thunder wanted to win it all as well. Oklahoma City didn’t just go to the Finals to lose. However, a goal was accomplished and the Thunder made the next step as a team and franchise. Oklahoma City… Continue reading »

NBA Finals: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Miami Heat Game 5 Recap

lebron wade finals

Its something that will be in my head all summer and for years and years to come. I was sitting in the American Airlines Arena wearing my Thunder gear, and left and right Heat fans were jumping around and going nuts. The clock was winding down; 3…2…1. The Miami Heat won the 2012 NBA championship. In the years to come, hopefully, it is the other way around. Maybe next year, Durant and Westbrook will be crying and hugging each other… Continue reading »

NBA Finals: Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma Thunder Game 1 Recap

kevin-durant-

You could see it coming. When the Thunder were down seven going into half, I was saying,”This game is far from over.” This whole year, Oklahoma City showed that they are a resilient team, with lots of heart. Game 6 against San Antonio was extremely similar to tonight. In Game 6 and tonight, the Thunder didn’t play well in the first half, but came out with incredible intensity  which sparked a big run to win the game. It’s almost as if… Continue reading »

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Game 3 post-game report

Coming into tonight’s game, the Thunder had taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the series but knew the Lakers had a chip on their shoulders and will come out strong on their home court. In game 1, the Thunder dominated with a 29-point blowout, and in game 2 the Lakers played great basketball, but only for 46 minutes. This obviously lead the Lakers to be a little pissed off, and really wanting to come out fire in game 3. The main thing the Lakers did well in game 2… Continue reading »
