And we thought the sweepstakes for Dwight Howard were turned off for a little bit.. In the four-team deal, sources told ESPN’s Chris Broussard that Howard and Nuggets forward Al Harrington would go to Los Angeles, Lakers forward Pau Gasol and Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo would go to the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers guard Andre… Continue reading »

Wonder About My Thunder: Not So Fast

145860489_crop_650x440

Sometimes in the NBA, teams that reach the NBA Finals one year will then come into the next season with the mindset of just breezing by their conference. Not so fast. Similar to the Lakers after they lost in the 2004 NBA Finals, as they came back the next year not even making the playoffs. Hopefully, this doesn’t happen to the Thunder. I mean, I can’t see the Thunder not making the playoffs next year but I hope Oklahoma City doesn’t… Continue reading »

Oklahoma Thunder 2012 Season Review & Player Grades

547234

Be as emotional and hurtful as you want but there is nothing to be ashamed of as a Thunder fan. Coming into this year, the Thunder wanted to get by the Western Conference Finals and advance to the NBA Finals. Of course, the Thunder wanted to win it all as well. Oklahoma City didn’t just go to the Finals to lose. However, a goal was accomplished and the Thunder made the next step as a team and franchise. Oklahoma City… Continue reading »

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder: Game 4 Post-Game Report

Wow. I can’t believe I’m writing this recap about a Thunder WIN. Sometimes, it’s all about the 4th quarter in the NBA. The whole way the Lakers stayed in control of the game, but that all changed in the last five minutes. The Lakers controlled the pace and tempo as they lead 29-24 after the first quarter. Early on, both teams hit jumper after jumper with the Thunder shooting 5 for 6 and the Lakers shooting 4 for 5. Russell Westbrook… Continue reading »

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Game 3 post-game report

Coming into tonight’s game, the Thunder had taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the series but knew the Lakers had a chip on their shoulders and will come out strong on their home court. In game 1, the Thunder dominated with a 29-point blowout, and in game 2 the Lakers played great basketball, but only for 46 minutes. This obviously lead the Lakers to be a little pissed off, and really wanting to come out fire in game 3. The main thing the Lakers did well in game 2… Continue reading »

Why the Chicago Bulls shouldn’t care about Dwight Howard

Everyday, NBA fans hear something new about the Dwight Howard situation. We’ve heard everything from “I want a trade to the Nets”, to “I’m staying in Orlando” and even the innocent “I don’t want a trade but if they want to trade me that’s fine.” Every analyst and blogger across the nation has had something to say about Dwight’s wishy-washy nature and his somewhat puzzling thought process. What’s puzzling to a lot of fans, specifically Bulls fans, is that he’s… Continue reading »

The State of the NBA: The Past, The Present & The Foreseeable Future

As we all know, the NBA locked out the players this summer for 149 days in hopes of creating competitive balance, improving revenue sharing and putting a bit of money back in to the owners pockets. We’ve gone through free agency and the first few games of the season and it seems that the only thing they really accomplished was the latter. There’s no Lebron-mania or Melo-drama but basketball fans are still constantly being teased by the latest Dwight Howard… Continue reading »
